Spain is famous for its seafood, and we have a great selection! The delicate flavours of these gourmet seafoods are carefully preserved, either in brine, olive oil, or a light sauce to enhance their flavour: scallops, squid, octopus, mussels, razor clams, heart cockles and baby sardines. We have the finest flavoured anchovies marinated in salt or vinegar, and a range of white (Bonito) and yellow-fin tuna, including the delicate belly fillets (Ventresca) and the wind-dried tuna from the south of Spain called Mojama. Back by popular demand this year are our dried seaweeds: harvested by hand from the coasts of Galicia using ecological methods, and full of nutrients and protein. |

Big juicy mussels from Galicia ('Mejillones en escabeche'). The mussels are first steamed, then lightly pickled in a marinade (dating back to Roman times) of olive oil, wine vinegar and spices like peppercorns, paprika and bay leaves, which gently flavour the mussels. Serve as a tapa with crusty bread and a glass of white wine. (8-12 per tin)

Pulpo a la Gallega - best-quality small, tender octopus pieces, flavoured with oil, salt, paprika and onion. This is a recipe from Galicia, traditionally made by Galician women (Gallegas) at street fairs, and served on simple wooden dishes, 'Pulpo boards', often with boiled potatoes and a glass of red wine as an accompaniment. We also have a Pulpo board available in the Kitchenware section of the website to make the experience complete!
