Cheese

Spains widely varying regions with their diverse climates, from the rain-soaked coast of Galicia to the semi-desert conditions of the Canary Islands, have led to a huge variation in the types of cheeses available, and we have a selection reflecting all these areas. Manchego is the most well-known, but we also have a smoked sheeps milk cheese from the Pyrenees called Idiazabal, Cows milk cheeses like Tetilla from Galicia and Mahon from Menorca and Goats milk cheeses: Murcia al Vino and a rosemary-scented Cabra al Romero. All are great with Membrillo, the quince jelly, or our new bitter-sweet pickled green figs! Or try one of our blue cheeses from the Picos de Europa, fantastic with our sweet Moscatel wine or Pedro Ximenez sherry.

Charcuterie

Chorizo, Spain's most famous food: a sausage made using garlic, paprika and salt. It is available in a thousand varieties throughout Spain, thick and thin, dry-cured or smoked; the leaner versions are Chorizos for slicing as a tapa, the more fatty ones are chorizos for cooking. We have a wide selection of both types, as well as a range of pre-sliced meats. Then there are Salamis, including new Wild Boar and Venison salamis and peppercorn-covered Fuets, a soft, thin salami; pieces of cured belly pork, Panceta, and the cured loin of pork - Lomo. We also have pieces of Cecina, the famous wood-smoked beef from Leon.

Seafood, Tuna and Anchovies

Spain is famous for its seafood, and we have a great selection! The delicate flavours of these gourmet seafoods are carefully preserved, either in brine, olive oil, or a light sauce to enhance their flavour: scallops, squid, octopus, mussels, razor clams, heart cockles and baby sardines. We have the finest flavoured anchovies marinated in salt or vinegar, and a range of white (Bonito) and yellow-fin tuna, including the delicate belly fillets (Ventresca) and the wind-dried tuna from the south of Spain called Mojama. Back by popular demand this year are our dried seaweeds: harvested by hand from the coasts of Galicia using ecological methods, and full of nutrients and protein.
